Telluride has some of the best skiing and snowboarding in the rockies, with a vertical drop of over 3500 feet, an average yearly snowfall of over 300 inches, and 16 lifts.
Due to its somewhat secluded location at the end of a spectacular box canyon, the resort avoids the crowded feeling of many other world famous resorts, even during peak season. The lift lines are rarely more than a few minutes wait, if they exist at all! Click here to visit the resort's official Web site.
Telluride even has Colorado's only Helicopter skiing and boarding tour. See more information at the Helitrax Web site.
The Telluride Ski Resort has a terrific school for skiing and snowboarding. Group and individual lessons are available at all ability levels for adults and children over age 3 (day care is available for children under 3 at the nursery).
Other winter activities in Telluride include snowmobile trips along the trail system and into the deep powder, backcountry and cross country ski tours, dogsled rides, and ice skating.
