Part of Telluride's appeal is that it is somewhat off the beaten path, and resists the overcrowding that affects some other resorts. Nevertheless, there are several ways to get to Telluride without difficulty.

Most people get to Telluride by flying into Montrose, the closest airport that can accept large aircraft. From Montrose, it is about an hour drive to Telluride, either by rental car or with the
Mountain Limo car service. Several airlines fly directly to Montrose, including Continental, United, Delta and American.

It is possible to fly directly to Telluride, but this is a small mountain airport, and only accepts private (charter) flights. Also, the Telluride airport may close for weather conditions, making it less attractive in the winter for travelers on a tight schedule. Several other larger airports in southwestern Colorado provide alternatives to Montrose, although with a further drive to Telluride. Durango and Grand Junction are approximately two to three hours away by road.

You can rent our condo through AvantStay. Nightly rates vary with the season, the holiday schedule and the festival calendar. The unit tends to book early for the more popular school break weeks and festival, so call early.
